Two suspects have been accused of stealing an ATV from the Ajax GO Station last fall, following tips from the public.

Durham Regional Police say two men entered a “secure room” at the Go station – located at 100 Westney Rd. S. – around 9 p.m. on Oct. 8, 2023.

The thieves allegedly stole numerous items, including a Polaris ATV.

Investigators posted security camera images of two suspects on the Help Solve a Crime section of the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) website on Nov. 17, 2023.

One suspect was located and taken into custody on Jan. 14 and a second suspect was arrested on Monday, police said in a statement released Wednesday.

“DRPS wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all those who assisted in finding these individuals,” police said.

Justin Larochelle, 35, of Whitby, is charged with theft of a motor vehicle, and break-and-enter.

Darren Meany, 44, of Whitby, is charged with theft of a motor vehicle, break-and-enter, and failure to comply with a probation order.

Both accused were subsequently released from custody on an undertaking, police said.
