Singer dines out at Surry Hills restaurant Pellegrino 2000 ahead of Eras Tour at Accor Stadium

Sydney’s current it girl Taylor Swift has been spotted out on the town for the first time since arriving earlier this week for her run of sold-out shows, dining out at a top Surry Hills restaurant.

The 34-year-old megastar has been lying low at her accommodation, thought to be Crown Sydney’s $38,888-a-night Presidential Villa, since arriving in Sydney on a private jet on Monday after completing her record-breaking three nights at the MCG in Melbourne.

But on Tuesday night the singer-songwriter was seen eating out at Surry Hills Italian eatery Pellegrino 2000 with Sabrina Carpenter, her support act on the Eras Tour.

Swift and Carpenter were filmed being ushered out of the restaurant on the corner of Campbell and Foster streets by private security as dozens of screaming fans cheered.

Despite a brief pause in Sydney’s persistent rain, the singer did not stop to engage with fans, but as she departed the restaurant in a black Range Rover four-wheel-drive, Swifties began chanting her name, “Taylor, Taylor”.

Pellegrino 2000 scored an impressive 15.5 out of 20 when reviewed by the Herald back in March 2022, and it was among the predictions offered by Good Food writers of where Swift could and should eat while in town.

Swift’s schedule over the next few days is a tightly guarded secret, but anticipation is growing that fans could witness a potential rendezvous between the pop star and her boyfriend, NFL player Travis Kelce.

Kelce hinted at travel plans on his podcast New Heights last week, and on Tuesday Swift’s rented private jet departed for Honolulu, sparking rumours that it had been sent to pick him up and fly him to Sydney by the weekend.
