Royal experts have been weighing in on Prince Harry’s surprise appearance at the NFL Awards in Las Vegas on Thursday night.

The Duke of Sussex wasted no time making his next public appearance after returning to the US following a very quick 24-hour visit to the UK to see his father, King Charles after his shock cancer diagnosis.

Appearing on TalkTV, royal commentator Emily Andrews said: “For the past couple of years, the narrative on both sides of the pond has been Harry whinging, telling us all about Spare, and fights over dog bowls.”

She added: “This is part of Prince Harry building a relationship with Paramount, but also trying to step away from a narrative of a whining royal. This is part of Prince Harry re-building his narrative.”

Within 24 hours of landing back at Los Angeles International Airport, Harry appeared on stage in Vegas to present the Walter Payton Man of the Year award to Pittsburgh Steelers footballer Cameron Heyward, leaving the audience gasping in surprise.

Royal podcast host and American journalist Kinsey Schofield said: “It was a strategic move to be in the mix of such a hot event at such a hot space”

Ms Schofield added: “He really had to go and visit his dad because to show up in the middle of the Super Bowl chaos and not acknowledge his father, would have been poor optics.”

Another high-profile appearance made by both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was their recent visit to Jamaica to attend the Bob Marley biopic.

The Sussexes were pictured posing with Paramount CEO Brian Robbins and his wife, Tracy James, on the red carpet. Harry and Meghan are reportedly friends with Mr Robbins and Ms James and flew to Jamaica at his invitation, staying at a luxury resort in Montego Bay.

To help rebuild their brand, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are also reportedly working on a “bunch” of new projects with the streaming service, Netflix.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are planning a new Netflix film and TV series, a company executive has said. The couple are reportedly working on new projects, many of which are believed to be “unscripted” with the streaming giant.

Netflix‘s chief content officer, Bela Bajaria, has revealed Harry and Meghan “actually have a bunch in development” under their Archewell Productions arm, The Times reports.

Ms Bajaria told a Netflix promotional event in Hollywood that the Sussexes were working on “a couple of unscripted things”, which are thought to be documentaries, as well as a film and series. They are all said to be in “very early development”.
