Puppy Rescued From Behind Wall

There’s nothing like a soppy story instead of the run-of-the-mill news articles involving deaths, violence and thievery, so here’s one for you.

AXA Puppy Rescued From Ventillation ShaftA small puppy had managed to get itself stuck in a ventilation shaft in a building where it howled miserably. So, as is often the case, fire personnel were called in to rescue an animal in distress.

This occurred last Saturday and resulted in the puppy being brought out, after a spot of hammer and chisel work on a kitchen wall. Apparently, the puppy has fallen down a ventilation shaft three days earlier on a roof terrace, whilst it gambolled about.

Neighbours could hear the animal howling and phoned the fire department around 18.20h.

Once the fire personnel had arrived, they located where its woeful howling was coming from (behind a kitchen wall of a first-floor flat) and set about making a hole. Once it was big enough for a fireman to get his arm in, he grabbed the dog and pulled it through into daylight.
