Prince William ‘helpless and scared’ as Kate Middleton battles cancer: report

Prince William is reportedly finding it difficult to keep calm and carry on amid Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis.

The Prince of Wales, 41, feels “helpless and scared” as the Princess, 42, receives treatment, according to Us Weekly.

He allegedly has been asking other royal family members to fulfill his public duties so that he can stay home with Middleton and their kids Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, Prince Louis, 5.

“They know their mother is sick and is trying to get better,” said the source.

The insider continued, “William is trying to be there for Kate and helping in every way he can. He’s been doing schoolwork with the kids and spending time with them in the afternoons and evenings.”

Another source said of Middleton, “She tires easily but she’s been trying to spend as much time with her kids as she can.”

After weeks of speculation about Middleton’s whereabouts, she announced Friday via video that she was diagnosed with cancer.

“This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to
process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” she said in the reveal.

“As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be OK.”

Middleton also described her husband as a “great source of comfort and reassurance.”

Kensington Palace previously announced that she would undergo planned abdominal surgery in January and return to her royal duties after Easter.

William and Kate will not be at traditional Easter services on Sunday as they continue to seek privacy during this unexpected health issue.

“Kate has been working from home, but she is unsure when she will feel ready to step out. It’s up to her when it comes to getting back in the public eye,” a source told Us.

Middleton also addressed her duties in Friday’s video, saying, “My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy, and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now, I must focus on making a full recovery.”

King Charles III, 75, meanwhile, is facing his own cancer battle, which Buckingham Palace revealed in February. He will be in attendance at Easter Mattins Service at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on Sunday with his wife, Queen Camilla.
