The CBC TV show will be looking for the next big thing in Canadian business from 10 a.m. — 5 p.m. at the CBC building on March 9-10.
Dragons’ Den, which debuted in Canada in the fall of 2006, is a reality show that gives aspiring Canadian entrepreneurs chances to pitch business and investment ideas to a panel of venture capitalists (the Dragons) in the hope of securing financing and maybe even partnerships.

“The best auditions come from passionate entrepreneurs who can prove that what they’re selling is innovative, interesting, and solves a problem! We look for pitches that not only capture our attention, but also tell a story,” said Molly Middleton, a senior producer for Dragons’ Den in an email. “We want people to prove they’ve got a viable business, and that they’re worth investing in.”
This time out auditions are for the upcoming 19th season of the show. That season will likely land on CBC TV and CBC Gem in the fall.
“It’s that perfect blend of entertainment, education and a celebration of entrepreneurship that just keeps giving after so many years,” said Middleton about the show’s success.
The Dragons these days are Arlene Dickinson, Robert Herjavec, Michele Romanow, Manjit Minhas, Wes Hall and Vincenzo Guzzo.
