In the purple-cap standings after Match #27 between PBKS vs RR, Yuzi Chahal is now back on top with 11 wickets while Bumrah trails behind followed by Rabada.

It was an immense bowling performance from both sides during the game between the Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals at the Mullanpur Stadium in Mohali. Both bowling units were able to deliver for their respective sides to make the game a low-scoring affair albeit an entertaining one, to say the least.

Yuzuvendra Chahal, RR’s prized leg-spinner, managed to take just one wicket which was Prabhsimran Singh in the third delivery after the powerplay. The batter looked to come down the ground and smack it but did not time nor get to the right length as he gave away a soft dismissal with a catch towards the man at long-on.

Top 5 Bowlers in IPL 2024 Purple Cap Standings

Yuzuvendra Chahal: The experienced campaigner continues to lead the wicket-taking charts as he is one of Rajasthan Royals’ most indispensable players and his one wicket against PBKS has put him up at the top of the purple cap race with 11 wickets.

Jasprit Bumrah: Arguably one of the best pacers across all formats, the MI ace continues to show his class throughout the tournament with the fast bowler picking up a five-wicket haul in his recent game against RCB.

Kagiso Rabada: The South African quick bowler, played a crucial role in PBKS’ resurgence in the second innings against RR. He picked up the key wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson to put the hosts back in the game.

Mustafizur Rahman: The Fizz has continued to showcase his wicket-taking prowess as he continues to give CSK the crucial wickets as he is at the moment their most important bowler amongst the many present in the squad.

Khaleel Ahmed: The Indian international has been a revelation, especially with the new ball for Delhi Capitals. He has been able to pick up wickets regularly for the side but has lacked support which would put the left-armer in good stead if DC are to make a strong comeback into the tournament.
