‘Courageous kid’ Taylor taken to hospital
Giants football general manager Jason McCartney says Sam Taylor has been taken to Canberra Hospital for assessment.
“He’s gone to Canberra Hospital for further treatment but he was conscious and speaking as he got into the ambulance,” McCartney told Fox Footy.
“He will get the best care there. It didn’t look great but he is a courageous kid and he is in the best hands now so he will be fine.”

The Giants have the lead but faced a much stiffer response from the Saints in the last part of that first quarter.
Still the Giants hold the lead and have been the better side, the Saints will rue some missed chances as the margin could have been much closer.
The loss of Sam Taylor to concussion will have a big impact on the Giants at the defensive end for the rest of this match.

Brilliant goal from Green
Plenty of AFL experts list Tom Green as the certain Brownlow Medallist in the coming years and he has kicked a super classy goal sprint from a stoppage and curling a banana kick around the goal post for his first major of the day.
Green and Jack Steele have both won some footy in this first term but that Green goal was a cracker.

Jack Higgins won a push in the back free kick on the boundary line and snapped the first goal of the day for the Saints.

Giants use their sub, Taylor now conscious
UPDATED: The Giants have wasted no time in making their sub with Sam Taylor (head knock) replaced by James Peatling.
The Giants have told Fox Footy that Taylor is now conscious and being assessed in the rooms before going to hospital.

Taylor taken from the ground
Giants star Sam Taylor has been put on the medical cart and he will be wheeled off momentarily.
He had a clash of heads while in a marking contest with St Kilda’s Jack Steele.
“It was a significant break and he was clearly unconscious for a good bit of time,” Fox Footy’s Gerard Healy said.
Play will resume with after an eight-minute delay.
