Canadian actor Catherine O’Hara will be joining the second season of HBO post-apocalyptic hit The Last of Us, which is set to be filmed in Vancouver.
HBO Max announced the casting news Friday but did not disclose details about O’Hara’s character.

O’Hara will be joining new cast members Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse and Kaitlyn Dever as Abby.
She is best known for playing Moira Rose in Schitt’s Creek, winning an Emmy award for best actress in a comedy in 2020 for the show’s final season. She is also known for her roles in Home Alone and Home Alone 2, in which she played Macaulay Culkin’s onscreen mom, Beetlejuice, A Mighty Wind, and Best in Show.
The Last Of Us — which follows the story of two survivors in a post-apocalyptic U.S. after a fungal pandemic turned people into zombies — is based on a video game of the same name.
It is one of the biggest productions filmed in Canada, premiering on HBO Max in January 2023 and receiving a slew of Emmy nominations, winning eight.
