Sidharth Malhotra was one of the guests at the Rising Bharat Summit 2024 where he spoke about how he used to make money before his acting career kicked off.

Sidharth Malhotra shared interesting anecdotes from his days as a struggler in Bollywood at the Rising Bharat Summit 2024. The actor, who made his debut with Student of the Year, revealed he was taking up modelling jobs to make ends meet before he began his Bollywood career. He revealed that before the filming of My Name is Khan, in which he was an assistant director, and Student of the Year, he would be offered modelling jobs from clothing brands and he would earn Rs 35,000 to Rs 40,000 per job.

The Yodha actor confessed that he would pretend that he was unwell and leave for the modelling job. “I used to act in real life, pretend to be unwell. I used to say, ‘You know I am under the weather, not really feeling well and so I can’t come today.’ I used to make excuses and make money to pay my rent. At that time, for any face, for one day you could make Rs 35,000 to Rs 40,000 and survive the whole month,” Sidharth said. He revealed that his rent was Rs 11,000 and he shared it with his friends.

Sidharth Malhotra eventually began his acting career with Student of the Year. He starred in the film with Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. Over 12 years in the industry, Sidharth has appeared in several movies. These include Hasee Toh Phasee, thriller Ek Villain, Kapoor & Sons, and Shershaah.
