The woman doused in a corrosive chemical in an attack in Clapham last week is a devoted mum who just wants a safe home for her daughters, her close friends have said.
There’s a huge manhunt underway for suspect Abdul Ezedi, 35, who’s accused of pouring an alkali over his ex-partner and attacking her two children, aged three and eight.
The mum could lose the sight in her right eye and is still sedated in hospital eight days on from the horrific attack – and the suspect is still on the run.
Due to the severity of her injuries, which mean she’s been unable to speak with police, the Met are treating the attack as attempted murder.
One of the children was also hit by the liquid, while witnesses described the three-year-old being slammed into the ground ‘like a wrestling move’ during the attack in Lessar Avenue, Clapham, on January 31.
A group of the victim’s close friends have set up a fundraiser for her and her children.
The GoFundMe page has already raised nearly £5,000.
In a statement, the group of friends said: ‘Our friend is first and foremost a devoted and loving mother.
‘Her children are her life. She is generous to a fault and a wonderful cook and host.
‘All she has ever wanted is a safe home for her and her beautiful, kind little girls.

‘As their loved ones we are still coming to terms with the fact that this monstrous attack will change their lives forever.
‘It is difficult to imagine now how they will recover, and all we want is for them to be able to rebuild their lives.
‘We cannot put into words how grateful we are to the heroic neighbours of Lessar Avenue.
‘They risked their own lives to save them and we can only imagine how distressing the attack was for them too. They are angels in our eyes.
‘We know this incident has deeply touched people across the UK, and even a very small donation would be invaluable.’
The Metropolitan Police confirmed for the first time yesterday that the victim had been in a relationship with Ezedi but it had broken down.
She agreed to meet him on the day of the attack, and was in his car with her children when he struck.
Police are keeping an open mind as to whether Ezedi is being helped to stay hidden from police, as the search enters its eighth day, or if he has come to harm or died – as his injuries have been described as potentially fatal.
One man has been arrested on suspicion of helping to hide Ezedi.
The most recent sighting was on Vauxhall Bridge Road just after 11pm on the night of the attack, with counter-terrorism officers drafted in to go through hundreds of hours of CCTV to track his route.
Detective Superintendent Rick Sewart said: ‘The medical injuries to Ezedi appear very significant from imagery that we have recovered, to the right side of his face.
‘And through the National Crime Agency we have received medical interpretation which would indicate that his injuries could be potentially fatal if not treated.’
