An unidentified man is accused of assaulting a female who was walking her dog and trying to throw her onto the road in the city’s west end last week.

In a news release issued Wednesday, Toronto Police said officers responded on March 28 at about 6 p.m. to an assault call near Bloor St. W. and Dundas St. W.

It’s alleged that the suspect approached the victim who was walking her dog, then grabbed the victim’s arm and began pulling her before assaulting her and trying to throw her onto the road.

Police said witnesses helped the victim and the man fled.

The assailant and victim are not known to one another.

The man is described as 20 to 30 years old, 5-foot-7, with a thin build and a bald head. He was wearing a blue shirt with two black vertical stripes, shoulder-width apart, a red-hooded sweater, dark blue jeans and flip flops.

Investigators have released an image of a suspect hoping members of the public recognize the man and come forward.
