A teacher in Málaga physically assaulted a school inspector after the visitor informed him that he would be opening a disciplinary file against him.
Now, we can suppose that he was not of accord with this because he grabbed the inspector by the throat and then pushed him out the door, gasping for breath.
Consequently, the Unión Sindical de Inspectores de Educación (USIE) de Andalucía will be taking action against the teacher for the attack, which took place on the 31st of last month.
According to witnesses, the inspector read out loud a summary of actions that had brought the teacher to the notice of the educational authorities. The teacher shook his head and said that it was all not true before beginning to insult the Head Teacher.
It was perhaps not the best moment for the inspector to ask the teacher to sign the report as having understood it, because the next thing he knew oxygen was a scarce commodity in his lungs, before being shoved out of the office door.
The inspectors’ work union states: “It cannot be permissible that a worker, carrying out his task, be subjected to aggression – we cannot work in fear.”
