Bodycam footage has been released showing police and a K-9 rushing toward a missing Michigan who was wearing just a diaper.

Police were called Monday afternoon after a 3-year-old had reportedly opened the screen of a window and crawled out of a home in Geneva Township, Mich.

Kuno, a police dog, and his handler, Deputy Eric Calhoun, were called in to help 30 minutes after the child was last seen.

“That particular K-9 has already found four children with the same type scenario,” Van Buren County Sheriff Daniel Abbott told local news outlet WOOD TV8. “So dispatch reached out to that K-9 officer and he came en route immediately.”

Kuno was able to find a footprint near the home and followed it to a lake, the sheriff’s office said.

Coordinating with drones that were deployed in the search, the K-9 and officer were able to confirm the location of the toddler.

The 24-second clip released by the sheriff’s office shows another officer behind the K-9 and Calhoun running towards the child, shouting “hey, buddy!”

He picks up the toddler, comforting him by telling him, “it’s OK.”

The little boy was found 50 yards away from the water.

“God willing, we had a good positive ending on this one,” Abbott said. “Where they recovered this little child — you’re talking two or three minutes later, we may have had a different result.”

The child was missing for around an hour from when 911 was called.

He was in good health, but had minor scatches, the sheriff’s office said.
