A visibly agitated Erling Haaland let his emotions get the better of him as Manchester City dropped points at home to Chelsea, with the striker appearing to bat away a cameraman shortly after the final whistle.
Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea – languishing down in tenth in the Premier League table – had looked set to come away from the Etihad with a stunning victory after Raheem Sterling struck to the put the visitors in front shortly before half-time.
But Rodri once again proved his value to Pep Guardiola and City as he popped up to hammer home a crucial equaliser with only seven minutes remaining of normal time in the heavyweight encounter.
Haaland was uncharacteristically wasteful in front of goal, missing three inviting opportunities in the breathless 1-1 draw, after City’s title rivals Arsenal and Liverpool had both picked up victories in Saturday’s earlier fixtures.
After breaking the all-time Premier League scoring record for a single season this term, Haaland has 16 goals to his name in the top flight this campaign – but the Norwegian seemingly left his shooting boots at home this weekend.
